Laser Facials in Santa Monica

LASER FACIALS

A laser facial is a Cosmetic Dermatology technique that is used to brighten skin complexion on the face and body using laser-based technology. These treatments can be used to correct pre-existing sun damage or can be used as a maintenance regimen to further improve skin on a monthly or yearly basis.
There are several different types of skin conditions that can be improved with a laser facial. Our cosmetic dermatology center in Santa Monica focuses on quality skin care that is affordable, effective, and therapeutically beneficial for skin. We treat acne, melasma, hyperpigmentation, and fine wrinkles with our laser facial treatments.

Acne and acne scars: cystic acne can occur at any age from preadolescence into adulthood. A variant of adult acne is rosacea which causes hyper vascularity and facial blushing that is resistant to daily skin care. Teenage Acne can be hormonally-based and results from a combination of increased see them output, clogged oil glands, and surges in pubertal hormones. Regardless of the type of acne or rosacea, our center treats hyperpigmentation and increased redness on the skin that result from the skin conditions. Acne scars and active acne can be treated with our laser facial protocols that can reduce redness, indented acne scars, and hyperpigmentation on the face and back.

Melasma: A combination of genetic and hormonal influences can affect your skin by initiating the development of melanin pigmentation on the face. This condition is known as melasma and results in brownish discoloration on the face including the forehead, cheeks, and jawline. Laser facials, IPL, and medium depth chemical peels Can improve hyperpigmentation and reduce the severity of melasma. We typically combine a series of laser facials with topical skin care (Melarase AM and Melarase PM) And light chemical peels.

Fine wrinkles: Facial volume loss is a major determinant of fine wrinkles around the mouth and around the eyes. The loss of collagen is a premature sign of aging and results from a combination of genetics, stress, and UV sun exposure. Our laser facials use micro fractional technology to stimulate collagen production within the skin. We often combine the laser facials with fractional RF and chemical peels to stimulate collagen production.

Kare Plastic Surgery and Cosmetic Dermatology offers comprehensive RF and laser protocols for skin rejuvenation. We offer the following options for laser facials:

Clear and Brilliant laser: This laser is one of our most popular treatments and is very similar to a Fraxel laser, but considerably less aggressive on the skin. Clear and Brilliant is a microfractional ablative laser that stimulates collagen, reduces skin imperfections, improves skin texture, and reduces hyperpigmentation. Treatments take approximately 30 minutes to complete with minimal downtime consisting of redness for approximately 6 hours.

Yag Laser Genesis: A non-ablative laser that works to thermally induce collagen production without significant downtime. The laser targets collagen molecules in the skin and reduces surface imperfections.

Fraxel laser: A microfractional laser that improves surface hyperpigmentation and texture. Fraxel is ideal for use on all skin types and induces collagen production and skin tightness.

Hydrafacial: The hydrafacial treatment uses vortex skin extraction to unclog pores, reduce oily skin buildup, improve skin complexion, and stimulate collagen. We use Hydrafacial for acne scars and hyperpigmentation alongside Clear and Brilliant laser to improve skin quality and tone.

Dermal fillers are also used to improve fine lines and wrinkles. These fillers include Juvederm and Restylane which are made of hyaluronic acid and can be injected within the dermis of the skin to reduce fine lines and erase wrinkles. Juvederm and Restylane have been safely used for decades as the prominent facial fillers worldwide. Our Santa Monica plastic surgery and cosmetic dermatology center specializes in dermal fillers and Botox injections for our patients. Dermal filllers that are available in the United States are mostly made of Hyaluronic acid and are FDA-Approved for use on the face. We use these fillers for the following purposes:

  • Smooth fine lines and wrinkles
  • Reduce smile lines
  • Replenish a more youthful facial volume
  • Augment the jawline and cheeks
  • Volumize the lips
  • Reduce hollowing of the temples and upper face
  • Chin augmentation
Some patients may experience mild swelling and bruising after an injectable treatment session with dermal fillers. We would recommend application of an ice-pack after your treatment and Arnica/Bromelain cream (Bruise Balm). Dermal fillers have a very high efficacy rate and minimal downtime and recovery, making them among the most valued and popular cosmetic procedures in the United States.
