In most cases, a small incision is made to remove the torn tissue and the wound is then resutured to help improve the contour of the earlobe. Preparing for a Torn Earlobe Repair
If you have developed split earlobes as a result of heavy earrings or trauma, Dr. Karamanoukian can repair the earlobes and restore the shape of your ears. Our office specializes in children and adults. We would recommend that you avoid aspirin or ibuprofen for about 3 weeks before your surgery in anticipation of the repair. On the day of the procedure, we recommend you eat a light meal and plan for someone to accompany you to your appointment. The office will prepare a consent form for you to fill out and the procedure will take place in our office-based surgical suite.
