Treatment of breast burns are divided into early and late therapies, depending on the timing after the initial burn. After the burn is healed, women with breast burns may develop keloid, hypertrophic, and dispigmented scars that need management. Dr. Karamanoukian has developed a scar treatment protocol for breast burns that can help manage hypertrophic scars and reduce discoloration of the skin. Most patients will start with Luminase and Exfolase, followed by laser therapy to reduce scarring. The goal is to improve skin quality and reduce the visibility of the scars.
