Vein Surgeon Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian
Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian is a board-certified vein specialist doctor who is a nationally recognized leader in the treatment of venous disease. He is surgical director of the Santa Monica Vein Center, with over two decades of experience in advanced vein care. Renowned for his expertise and patient-focused approach, Dr. Karamanoukian utilizes the most cutting-edge techniques in the management of varicose and spider veins, including Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA), mechanochemical ablation (MOCA), ultrasound-guided and conventional sclerotherapy, microphlebectomy, and minimally invasive vein removal procedures. Bulging varicose veins and chronic vein disease may require more advanced surgical options such as vein stripping.
Dr. Karamanoukian is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine (ABVLM) and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. The ABVLM is an AMA-designated surgical and medical specialty dedicated to the treatment of Venous and Lymphatic Disease. As a practicing surgeon, Dr. Karamanoukian is trained in the latest endovascular and surgical treatments for varicose veins and venous disease; implementing many of his disciplined expertise in ongoing surgical research and clinical practice.
