Cherry angiomas or spider angiomas are small red bumps that appear on the surface of the skin in the absence of skin trauma or injury. Dermatologists refer to these small blood vessels as cherry angiomas if they were bright red and nodular, and refer to them as spider angiomas if they have small thread-like veins emanating from the central core. These are benign skin lesions that can arise during pregnancy, childbirth, or normal adulthood.
